enigmas of the murky depths,
terrible and strange,
scattered through the seven seas,
capriciously they range
by siren's song or serpent's tooth,
sailors meet their fate,
from brackish bogs to open sea,
creatures lie in wait
This is awesome...have you ever thought about becoming a book artist?? like for little kids?? like books about the ocean and the sea and mythical creatures...b/c I mean you color them so well and it just like illuminates all the creatures you do like 1000 fold...seriously... you're so good at it..it just blows me outta the water (ba dum chi!)

"boo mutha fukas!!! a ha haa!!" - no one.. I just made that up.
Thank you! Well, when I was younger, I thought about stuff like that. But, seriously, I was never determined enough to work on a big project like that, and then to take all the rejection trying to get published. I pretty much thought my creativity, such as it is, would be in my own mind more than anything else...
But later the internet came along. I like making websites--the combination of problem solving to get the code the way you want, the writing, the design, the art, the chance to interact with others--all rolled into one. It's nice to have that window on the world, otherwise I'm pretty much an isolationist. Never had anything like the internet when I was a kid. Now I know I'm sounding like a grandma (walked 20 miles in the snow to school, up hill both ways, LOL) but I wonder if you kids these days know how lucky you are! So this is my outlet, no pressure or expectations like you'd have to deal with if you made it a job, no publishers, no deadlines, no one telling me to change this or that. I'd never make websites for money either, it's just a hobby, a chance to do my own thing!
You're quite welcome. I see...well I'm sure you're still good at the job you have... hee !!
well that's b/c billy was growing up with you I'm sure.. *smiles* hehe and dont' worry about sounding old... I know that I am very lucky b/c without the net I wouldn't be as passionate about the things I feel and do..I would still be the little girl that kept to herself and never was liked or admired... without the net I wouldn't be thought I was "cool" but it not coolness that matters..it's that I have a voice .... without the net I would have probably been way more introverted...and I never would have met you or any of my other awesome DA friends... man that makes me sad thinkin about it.... oh well ...I'm glad I have it..nyo!!

Oooooh i just looooove that poem, but you already knew that
Also,i think the pic wasn't working when i last tried to see it,or maybe it was... Anyway,i like it very much, you have a good idea there. For possible improvements i'd suggest drawing on that character a bit more, he misses a bit of personality, like he was rendered as a model. Also,i'd darken the background a bit around him,to get him to stand out,and overall maybe a bit of more contrast wouldn't hurt... Just suggestions, use as you see fit
Great work!
Thank you! It looks a bit like he's floating through the clouds instead of water, not that there's anything wrong with that.. I had to make the surroundings light, because I'd made the creature dark and I wanted him to show up!
Somehow I never saw this before... I'm glad you made it your featured deviation! I really love the colors -- it looks like a dragon of the sky now. I love the way you did the semi-sheer, delicate parts of the dragon (like the webbing between its fingers). Very nice!!
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
This is a collection of deviations showing real Pinups in the classic Retro poses from various Artists. For the 4rd time I present a variation of Vintage Pinup Queens as well as fresh modern Pinup art. If you love Polkadots, seamed Nylons, Plateau-Heels and and Miles-long-legs you should not miss this collection.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
